I worked long and hard on this one. There were extremes of light and shadow here, and this is a great example of what can be done in the computer. The same thing in a darkroom would have taken much longer, and many tries before getting it right. For the two hours I spent fixing this image in the computer, I can only imagine how many dozens it would have taken in the darkroom.
